FAQ

WILL MY PET BENEFIT FROM ACUPUNCTURE?

Yes

DOES ACUPUNCTURE TREAT ______(INSERT CONDITION OF CHOICE)?

TCVM addresses the whole patient. It can be integrated as adjunct therapy into every medical condition assisting pets in a multitude of ways on a case by case basis.

The use of TCVM as sole or complimentary therapy, treatment frequency and response to treatment varies with each individual patient. To learn more on how TCVM can specifically assist with your pets healing needs please submit a new client request form.

NOTE: Pet specific questions beyond the information on this site is considered medical advice and requires and active doctor/client/patient relationship by law i.e. appointment for exam/consult

DOES DR. BROWN RECOMMEND TREATING SOLELY WITH TCVM

While the services offered at Soul Puppy are solely TCVM, Dr. Brown is an Integrative Veterinarian trained in both Western Medicine and TCVM.

Western medicine plays an important role for emergencies, pharmaceuticals/prescription medication, diagnosing disease, labwork for treatment monitoring, etc. and continues to play an important role for TCVM patients. For example, patients treated with TCVM for chronic kidney disease still require regular labwork to monitor kidney values and response to treatment

Dr. Brown believes in integrating both Western and Eastern Medicine for optimal patient response.

IMPORTANT: Dr. Brown recommends that TCVM Soul Puppy patients continue to seek care and follow treatment recommendations made by their regular general medicine or internal medicine specialist veterinarian for the General Medicine (Western/Conventional/Allopathic) portion of their treatment plan i.e. NON-TCVM portion.

WHAT DOES DR. BROWN WISH FOR PET OWNERS TO UNDERSTAND?

The sooner acupuncture and TCVM is started the better the response.

TCVM helps the body heal with time and commitment to treatment. For example, treating allergies with acupuncture, herbs and food therapy is a much slower process than treating allergies with steroids or injectable Western medication

Many geriatric patients that receive regular acupuncture treatments are being kept stable. Sometimes it is not obvious to pet owners until they stop treatment and the pet then takes many steps backwards which can be difficult to recover

Preventive medicine is the best medicine even with needles!

Treat the imbalance before it becomes dis-ease
